We have all lost…

As a people – we have all lost.

Personally – some have lost more and suffered most desperately.

It is a reason to be grateful but also to have empathy for those in all corners of the world whether they be near or far.

Taking possession of such only makes us loose the context that my loss or love is greater than someone elses.

It’s not ours – it just is.

Whether it be terrible or beautiful – it is for all to experience equally.

Peace to all and may all feel comfort in their most vunerable moments.

World Trade Memorial, NYC

End of expectations bring realization’s commencement.

Intimate connections in a big world feels like a heart coming home and I have been away so long.

What pattern have I missed? A blueprint of understanding and comfort feels like an essential revival from so much loneliness.

The pain in the world has this shell closed so tightly that I question if it could be real – is it possible? Sure a turtle knows it’s my path, but after being on the road so long with little evidence of a true heart and mind of who’s meant to share this empty vessel.

To fill it with comfort and honesty – to collaborate joy and even suffering and sometimes anguish.

Intersecting lines with so much to say have answered the 36 and the test of eye in 4 minutes to pass into 10 with no discomfort.

Do we realize that it may be a brilliant and passing light that only lasts for this moment? Bright hot and invigorating but maybe temporary like a hot day at the end of summer before so many leaves are primed to fall from magestic skeletons.

Alarms meant to awaken in the dark alone and cold have cheated me from the resolution of my dreams. Deposited in the warmth of this container but for awhile and again longing for this heat that’s now so far away.

What can we expect to gain from knowing this design but so soon separated from a partner in crime without building the architecture that has been glimpsed from a heart’s longing.

The road to filling this vessel may be lost like the tracks washed out by so much rain and distance between us. Our hearts if true will find the way back where the eyes may fail. Can we feel our way through this without going back into this shell of hibernation once again? Only the heart knows what the eyes don’t see.

I’m trusting that it’s true.

Ash & Grain

Dream about everything because it overcomes fear
Plan for love to come back to you – even though maybe it never will

A mountain is made, a multitude of grains – particles beyond imagination
In their smallest forms can be washed away instantly – but in multitudes can weather many storms

Ash from fire stains the window of the souls eye and I can not see you through the vortex
A swirling window, a door to the place where I accumulate my missing particles – the pieces that confirm my form here and cure so much sadness that I have carried from the world

This gratification has never come easy or instant because suffering leaves the filters of a machine obstructed – until the correct solvent is found that can cleanse the spirit once more
Healing the lungs from ash that has choked us from recieving le souffle d’amour

The pragmatic asks, “how can it?” While the romantic speaks of dreams and sings of tomorrow
The literary recites qoutes of lore, speaks of fairness and how we are destined to repeat
Mathematicians tally the score and look for the angles to correct (and only right angles are correct)

Are we limited only by our mind or just our limitations? Does the body heal without the psyche’s approval?
Why do grains from the mountain wash away instead of accumulating with their brothers?
And why do the ashes of this newly grown tree fly on the wind to land directly on my pupils to paint my vision forever with your lovely limbs?

It is not only to ask – it is only to live in wonder, to run into the vortex – naked with only the armor of d’amour
That which heals you in mind & body – Turtle Shell Panther Spirit flying with Raven-Crow Wind Walker Flow

The Reset

For those thinking that what cinema presents is real
Or searching for that picture perfect relationship appeal

It’s a real inspiration that it could happen if you visualize your truth
The second and hardest part is that you’ll have to fight for it with nail & tooth

It’s not for all to push or pull – some just want a Sunday drive
But some believe since their mind’s eye was opened – they’ve been down to to ride or die

Days like these it’s inspirational to see young families making new additions
In great promise for equal footing for all those with with hope and ambition

Increasing peace even in the wake of hate & violence
Reaching deap as the soul to show that the love thing is the wildest

Although pride & prejudice may keep us apart, keep her from calling or picking up

Past wounds need to heal without judgement to establish respect
Letting go of past programs, hypocrisies and a time to introspect

Today’s connection is through a thing called smart but that’s merely scratching the surface
Although using it with intelligence can achieve real purpose

We’ve come up through grace and hard work says the Presidential chair
But to our forefathers malice we can never compare

There is a wild beauty in all our differences
Just like a sense of safety in familiar references

Great strides have been made in the struggle for understanding
It’s an effort and investment that’s uncomfortable and demanding

It becomes a task at hand – it’s your decision
Is your head up from pride or in recognition  –
Do we exude stubborness or wish to reconcile
The past offenses have been compiled

If humans be the most advanced animals – let there be proof
Let’s choose to reprogram, rewire the escalator to go up

Can a good night sleep eliminate pain? Maybe it’s a good start.

Eliminate pain in 6 weeks, for only a few hours per week?  Don’t loose anymore sleep, it’s been done and it’s natural.

For the many years of martial arts and dance activities that I’ve done, including performing, competing, coaching, teaching and refereeing  – I’ve found that doing some type of self-care activity can relieve various muscle aches, pain and tension.   What I also noticed, was that typically, the muscle aches, pain and tension would be right back again after few days!

I often wondered why those recommended youtube stretching videos, a visit to the doctor with a prescription, or a supplement that reported good results didn’t seem to take care of all my physical symptoms like pain, tension or stress for any lasting amount of time.

After some time and trying many types of therapies and supplements, I found the answer was quite simple really – it lied in balancing my chosen self-care activities consistently with some other basic elements to get a consistent and cumulative result.

Balancing any complex system takes some thought, planning and consistency to see continuous great results.

Many repetitive strain injury disorders can be due to high intensity activities as well as sustained low intensity ones.  So yes, activities like sitting in a car, at a desk, typing, texting and even sleeping can cause muscular disorders as well as the high intensity ones like sports, dancing or any physical work.

***Myself included – I used to work out and feel that my lower back and shoulder (which for a long time for me were chronic issues) would  feel better right after but then be in pain after a couple of days again (and sometimes worse)!  I would lay off the gym activities because I was afraid to aggravate my condition.  I would also stop taking supplements consistently because of their questionable benefits.

I would say the worst part of this reoccurring experience was the nagging feeling that I wasn’t getting better and that being in pain seemed to be the norm

Overall I would say i was pretty discouraged and tired of being in pain all the time but what really bothered me was the fear that I wouldn’t be able to do the activities I enjoyed most.   I’m a pretty active person with hobbies and interests like dancing, swimming, water-sports, motorcycling, hiking, to name a few. When it got bad enough that I couldn’t keep up with my kids and even walking was uncomfortable, I decided something progressive needed to be done.

After trying many different therapies and self-care activities I found that they all had something to offer in the way of relief or therapeutic value.  Most of the massage modalities helped me feel better for a day or two, some exercise & stretch routines helped a little and so did taking supplements/joint health vitamins but I never felt like I could rise above the reoccurring pain in my lower back and shoulder.

I found that when we decide to take a certain supplement or doing a self-care exercise or trusting a therapist to address our pain – the goal is to improve and never feel it again.

Rarely does one supplement or drug, one day of exercise or one day at a therapist office ever do the trick. Even Thai massage, which is one of the best muscular therapies available, is not enough by itself.

What I failed to understand is that although getting better is the goal – I found out getting better is actually a process that requires us to be involved daily.

Mostly we are goal oriented society and when we decide to start something — the focus is the goal or the end product.

With something as complex as the human body – understand that the focus should be on having processes that work on multiple levels otherwise we will not fully address a body that is always in the state of processing something: food, liquids, toxins, stress, thoughts & emotions.

Sure it’s a complex subject but can be easier with some framework – click on the link below for some more insight.

Crossing Over (Or Under)

If the love of your life was living under a bridge in a foreign country how could you ever bring her home to prepare her a meal or run a bath to take away some of the pain and suffering that life’s struggles bring when you are down and out? Maybe she will not come to you in this life time or the next but be assured that all of the fragments of your soul are always moving towards you in one form or another. Do not keep your light in- especially when you are in dark places. Even though we are more drawn to our soul mates we are all connected and could benefit from some form of completion of that connection no matter how small.
